Dr Henry's Practice-
Dr Henry has had an active clinical practice for twenty five years. She treats adults (18 and older) in individual, couple, and group psychotherapy. Individuals often come to Dr. Henry seeking help for depression and anxiety, grief and loss, identity and self-esteem concerns, or difficulties in building and sustaining relationships. Sometimes people seek support in negotiating difficult personal and/or professional transitions in their lives. Others seek a deeper understanding of the impact of certain life events on their current understanding of themselves and why they behave in the way the do.
Dr. Henry always tries to understand each client's struggle in the context of the individual's unique personality, personal life history and the stressors they are experiencing in the present. She seeks to work collaboratively with clients. It is not unusual for Dr. Henry to help people reduce uncomfortable symptoms, work through problematic relationships or situations from the past or present and emerge with new ways of relating to themselves and important others in their lives.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Henry is on the clinical faculty at Emory University School of Medicine: Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, where she provided psychiatric residents with psychotherapy supervision. She has served as a member of the clinical faculty at Smith College where she provided psychotherapy supervision for doctoral students.
Dr. Henry has also taught on the graduate level, and given numerous lectures on a broad range of mental health issues to community groups.
